And that's a wrap! The 2023 Tri-State's Funniest Person contest has reached its hilarious conclusion, and we're thrilled to announce our grand prize winner, Andy Russell! Congratulations, Andy, and to all of our brave participants who took the stage and put their funny bones to the test. We had lots of laughter and comaraderie that we won't soon forget! 2023's contest was lit! We started with 40 amateur performers, and narrowed it down to the top 12. The finals were loaded with local and regional talent, and comics did their best 3-5 minutes of material. It was a night to remember, and a chance to see the future of stand-up comedy in the Tri-State area.

Laughing Dad Entertainment Presents: The Tri-State's Funniest Person - Amateur Comedy Contest

The Contest: Be as funny as you can be in 3-5 minutes, on stage during our Thursday night shows.
The Rules: The rules are simple. The contest is for amateurs only, if you have ever been paid for your comedic talent as a feature or headliner you are not eligible to participate. Material must be original, but does not have to be traditional stand up comedy, it just has to be funny and your own. Contestants are judged on stage presence, creativity and audience response.
The Perks: Free tickets for the show you're performing in. Give them to whomever you fancy, and have your own cheering section. Up to 12 contestants compete a night along with a national touring pro closing the show. Winners will compete for prize money (tbd), a paid spot during one of our professional shows, and bragging rights across the entire Tri-State!
Who's Eligible: Everyone in our community, over the age of 21 who has always wanted to try stand-up comedy. There is no sign-up fee. The contest is free to enter so what do you have to lose??
